PictureConfluence Tap Handle poured over 200 pints for A Precious Child at Los Tacos.
For the month of June, Los Tacos promised to donate $1 to A Precious Child for every pint of Renegade Brewing Company’s Redacted Rye IPA that was poured from the Confluence Tap Handle. Over 200 pints were sold resulting in a donation of over $200.

“Being part of the outstanding Denver community is a privilege,” said Los Tacos owner Micah Armijo. This was the second month Los Tacos hosted the Confluence Tap which previously donated proceeds from sales in April to Mount Saint Vincent.

The donation will support A Precious Child, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to making a positive impact in the lives of disadvantaged and displaced children and families in Colorado by improving their quality of life.

In addition to their Redacted Rye IPA being on the Confluence Tap. Renegade also matched each gallon of beer sold by donating a gallon of clean drinking water as a part of their new Tap 4 Tap program. The Tap 4 Tap program was launched earlier this year and is a one for one business model made famous by Tom’s Shoes.

The Confluence Tap Handle program is a collaboration managed by Confluence, a corporate social responsibility firm. “We are thrilled with the Confluence Tap Handle success at Los Tacos and the amount of money raised for the youth who benefit from A Precious Child’s servies,” said Confluence founder Brian Phipps.

Confluence’s vision is to have an identifiable brand where customers who see the Confluence Tap Handle will know that a portion of sales always goes to charity and that a different craft beverage will be served each month.

For the month of April, Los Tacos promised to donate $1 to Mount Saint Vincent for every pint of Former Future Brewing Company’s Gadabout India Pale Lager that was poured from the new Confluence Tap Handle. Los Tacos sold 358 pints resulting in a $358 donation.

“Being part of the outstanding Denver community is a privilege,” said Los Tacos owner Micah Armijo. The new restaurant, located at Colfax & Pearl, has a passion for helping youth-oriented charities and understands the importance of being a responsible member of the community.

The donation will support Mount Saint Vincent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit who provides clinical treatment and nurturing, loving care for one of society’s most vulnerable populations — children facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges due to trauma, mental illness, physical or sexual abuse, or chronic neglect.

Partnering in the collaboration was Former Future Brewing Company. Owner Sarah Howat said, “Working with the community is and has always been important to Former Future. We believe in the power of people and the lasting effects of fostering community. What a better way to accomplish this than through beer!”

The Confluence Tap Handle program is a collaboration managed by Confluence, a corporate social responsibility firm. “We are very excited about the success of the Confluence Tap Handle and that the donation contributes to the vital services Mount Saint Vincent provides to youth,” said Confluence founder Brian Phipps. Confluence’s vision is to have an identifiable brand where customers who see the Confluence Tap Handle will know that a portion of sales always goes to charity and that a different craft beverage will be served each month.

Los Tacos will continue its community engagement by hosting the Confluence Tap from June 4 - July 4, giving $1 from each pint of Renegade Brewing’s Redacted Rye IPA sold to A Precious Child. Los Tacos will host a celebration of the Confluence Tap restarting on Saturday, June 4, at 6pm. Please see the event page for more information.

In addition to Los Tacos’ promise to donate to A Precious Child in June, each pint sold will also contribute to Renegade Brewing’s Tap 4 Tap program - a one for one business model where for each gallon of Renegade beer sold is matched by a donation of a gallon of clean drinking water by Renegade.

To donate to or volunteer with Mount Saint Vincent, please go to www.MSVHome.org.

Los Tacos, a new taqueria at East Colfax Avenue and Pearl Street in Denver, will donate $1 to Mount Saint Vincent for every pint of Former Future Brewing Company’s Gadabout India Pale Lager that is sold from the Confluence Tap Handle from Saturday, April 9, to Saturday, May 7.

Los Tacos is very passionate about helping youth and chose Mount Saint Vincent as its beneficiary while hosting the Confluence Tap. Mount Saint Vincent provides clinical treatment and nurturing, loving care for one of society’s most vulnerable populations — children facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges due to trauma, mental illness, physical or sexual abuse, or chronic neglect. Using highly relational, individualized treatment therapies, Mount Saint Vincent helps young children express their trauma stories, control their emotions, build safe and healthy relationships, and learn to trust again.

To celebrate the giving initiative, Los Tacos will host a Launch Party on Saturday, April 9, from 6-8pm. The event is free to enter.

This will be the third time a restaurant and brewery have partnered through the Confluence Tap Handle. “We are extremely excited to create a collaboration through the Tap Handle that can make a meaningful donation to charities and bring exposure to some of the newer breweries in the Denver area,” says Confluence Tap Founder, Brian Phipps. “All of our partners understand the importance of being an involved and engaging member of the community. We hope to have a Confluence Tap Handle in every community that can be utilized as a resource for charities and an opportunity for craft beverage makers to connect with restaurants.”

Living the Dream Brewing Company and Strange Craft Beer Company created a friendly IPA Throw Down competition for Colorado Craft Beer Week and generated nearly $4,000 in donations for the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD).

“We are thrilled to give back to a great organization like the National Sports Center for the Disabled through a fun competition with friends,” said Living the Dream owner Carrie Knose. “When our breweries realized that we both supported the NSCD in the past, it seemed fitting to collaborate.”

The IPA Throw Down donations consisted of the breweries donating $1 for every pint of their chosen IPA that was sold at their tap rooms from March 19th to the 30th as well as a silent auction on March 30th. Items from the silent auction were donated by Living The Dream, Strange Craft, KBCO, Sweet Action Ice Cream, Mellow Mushroom, Murdoch's Ranch & Home Supply, Sports Authority, Winter Park, Gigi's Cupcakes, and Alamo Drafthouse.

“Colorado Craft Beer Week is such a great platform to celebrate the amazing beers our state produces,” said Strange Craft owner Tim Myers. “We wanted to come up with a fun way to utilize Colorado Craft Beer Week to incorporate our brewery’s other passion of giving back to the community.”

The IPA Throw Down featured Living the Dream’s Empty Trophy Case IPA against Strange Craft’s Breakfast Grapefruit IPA. In the end, Strange Craft Beer won the IPA Throw Down and a special wrestling-sized belt, but more importantly everyone was happy to come together and generate a meaningful donation for the NSCD.

The National Sports Center for the Disabled provides outdoor therapeutic offerings to over 3,000 people with disabilities year-round. The NSCD helps athletes with almost any type of disability learn new sports and set goals.
