For the month of April, Los Tacos promised to donate $1 to Mount Saint Vincent for every pint of Former Future Brewing Company’s Gadabout India Pale Lager that was poured from the new Confluence Tap Handle. Los Tacos sold 358 pints resulting in a $358 donation.
“Being part of the outstanding Denver community is a privilege,” said Los Tacos owner Micah Armijo. The new restaurant, located at Colfax & Pearl, has a passion for helping youth-oriented charities and understands the importance of being a responsible member of the community.
The donation will support Mount Saint Vincent, a 501(c)3 nonprofit who provides clinical treatment and nurturing, loving care for one of society’s most vulnerable populations — children facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges due to trauma, mental illness, physical or sexual abuse, or chronic neglect.
Partnering in the collaboration was Former Future Brewing Company. Owner Sarah Howat said, “Working with the community is and has always been important to Former Future. We believe in the power of people and the lasting effects of fostering community. What a better way to accomplish this than through beer!”
The Confluence Tap Handle program is a collaboration managed by Confluence, a corporate social responsibility firm. “We are very excited about the success of the Confluence Tap Handle and that the donation contributes to the vital services Mount Saint Vincent provides to youth,” said Confluence founder Brian Phipps. Confluence’s vision is to have an identifiable brand where customers who see the Confluence Tap Handle will know that a portion of sales always goes to charity and that a different craft beverage will be served each month.
Los Tacos will continue its community engagement by hosting the Confluence Tap from June 4 - July 4, giving $1 from each pint of Renegade Brewing’s Redacted Rye IPA sold to A Precious Child. Los Tacos will host a celebration of the Confluence Tap restarting on Saturday, June 4, at 6pm. Please see the event page for more information.
In addition to Los Tacos’ promise to donate to A Precious Child in June, each pint sold will also contribute to Renegade Brewing’s Tap 4 Tap program - a one for one business model where for each gallon of Renegade beer sold is matched by a donation of a gallon of clean drinking water by Renegade.
